BASSETT, Va. (WDBJ) - A resident was found dead in a house fire Monday, December 15, according to Bassett Fire Department. Firefighters responded at 4:52 a.m. to reports of a two-story wooden house fire on 263 Graceland Drive. Crews were on scene until 1 p.m., according to firefighters.

Firefighters worked for several hours to bring a fire under control in Amherst County on Monday, according to Chief Brad Beam.
